Hannah's First day of Team Kids

>> Thursday, February 16, 2012

Yesterday was Hannah Joy's First day at Team Kids at Church!

To remember her first day, I took a picture of her with two precious people in our lives that run Team Kids in our church.
(I will be starting to help in 2 weeks!)

This is the thing that Hannah does independently without Mom or Dad.  We know everyone there and feel safe with her there.  Plus, I'll be helping there soon.  But, I wanted her to learn more about Jesus, enjoy fellowship with other children her age more, learn to respect and obey other people's authority and have "her" little special time once a week where she's got a little independence.

She did great!  They went to a retirement place called Amanda Square and passed out little valentines even tho they were a day late to do so.  The girls (all 3 go --  Madi and Sarah have been going for awhile!)  said she did wonderful and was the best kid there.  The teacher said she did super!  I'm so glad she went and did well!
She was super excited and ready to go back already as we were leaving!  lol  :) :)

Be Transformed.

>> Sunday, January 16, 2011

Today at church, our sermon was about being transformed.
Being transformed as we are first saved, then growing, then down the line having Christ at heart at most all times... being Christ centered.  We want our hearts and our bodies and minds to be reformed, transformed to be more Christ like.

Something I've been realizing is that I work for the package so hard.  I try to do and say and live all the things that would glorify God but I often do not ask God to help me in doing this.  I often do not invite Him to help me do this.  I feel I should do it because I am a Christian.  I should do it - but I have to remember to invite God to be part of it and tho I ask Him to lead me... so often I focus on the ways of the Lord instead of the Lord.  Clear as mud?
I guess I am just realizing that I can't do it all on my own, I need to ask the Saviour to do it through me and help me.
With love,

Church was Amazing Today!

>> Sunday, November 21, 2010

We really love this church.  It's our 2nd to visit since we moved here but I think we are going to stay!  It's wonderful.  My hubby, the children and I all love it.  Today, my Mom visited with us there and she loved it also!  I also met a lady last week but didn't exchange numbers.  I was hoping and praying we'd see her and her family again.   We did.  We swapped numbers and after talking on the phone today we are getting together on Wednesday at our house.
I'm very excited about that - my first friend here!
Same for the girls!
God blesses us so much!  So much more than we ever deserve!

We Loved the new church!!!!! -- Thankfulness Post

>> Sunday, November 14, 2010

I'm so thankful for church!!!!

(there is a CHALLENGE at the bottom that is a side note in pink!)
Well, the first church we visited was really wonderful.  I went to every single service to check everything out.  The girls did too.  We even went to the Fall Festival!  :)
However, the church just didn't have enough children.
That's important to me because we homeschool and I want the girls to be able to make friends through church.  Tho, that is *not* the only reason we're looking for a church.  We want to find a church here that we can be fed from, participate in, get involved in the outreach and meet other like minded families.
This church is the second one we have visited.
It's called Wood Creek.
Today was our first visit there and we loved it.
We were REALLY fed during the sermon and I couldn't believe the time flew so fast.  It was about investing in heavenly treasures, helping others - the things that help us invest in heavenly things.  It was about not investing the majority of your money into earthly things as they will turn to dust.  As many of you know I have learned that hard lesson this year with what happened to our home.
They are having a coat drive right now and I have two coats to offer and it feels great.  They have a church pantry for those in need at church.  I want to donate there.  They have where you can get help if you do not have the money for a good christmas.  I want to donate there.  They're right now having a "lunch box" drive.
You donate nonperishable things to be put into a lunch box.  I want to participate there - the girls are VERY excited about this!
You take things like Easy Mac, ravioli and etc..
The girls came home from their classes excited about that, which they will help pick things out for AND they enjoyed their classes which were really neat as they told us about what they did.
As we were leaving, one little girl from Sarah Faith's class kept saying goodbye to her and waving.  She had sat by Sarah Faith when she came in.  I think she really made Sarah Faith feel welcome.
When I picked up Madi Grace she was smiling and in a room of all girls!  There's so many children that, for example, 2nd graders are divided among FOUR ROOMS.  There are many homeschool families that go there.  It just really felt amazing.  I also was blessed so much by the praise music there.  We felt at home there.
I would love to finish visiting all the services and find that this is where we belong.  Kenny feels the same way.  It's much like our church back in Florida... which we adored and went to the time that we were in Florida.  We went to the same one the whole time because we found it "home" there.
I am so thankful for today and for the church.
Please pray that we will know God's will in His home for us in a church here.  I would be so grateful!

***Let me encourage you with this - it's completely just a side note..
but I challenge you this week to take care of your home, the cooking and your family better than you have *EVER* done even at your best!  Just put forth the extra effort, love and servanthood to go the extra mile.  Please join me!  Let me know if you are!!!***
So thankful and full of praise!

Today we visited a church nearby...

>> Sunday, October 17, 2010

We really loved it!  It was small and the church family seemed so close and loving.  They were so welcoming to us.  So many people introduced themselves to us.  The pastor was great, the youth minister wonderful, everything was so nice.  There were several children and many things to get involved in.  The church is like one mile from our house and that is great too!  (esp. when Kenny is taking forever to get ready per usual!  lol)  We are going back on Wednesday so I can go to a book study and the girls can go to the childrens' program.  Hannah Joy will stay home with Daddy since we do not put her in the nursery.  (we won't do that until we're sure that's where we will stay because we do not want to upset her with different nurseries if we visit another church)  I really think we will end up staying there and if so she'll get acquainted to the children and the nursery.  She did fine at the church we went to in FL.  (oh how happy I am to be back in TX!!!!!!!)  We're having a Fall Festival with the church next Sunday at 5 and I'm already planning away to help with it.  They are also doing Operation Christmas Child (look it up!  it's awesome) at the ladies meetings twice a month on Monday nights.  Mom did that one year and the girls and I got to join in.  It was so wonderful to give that way!  Mom's boxes were so over stuffed! - typical mom - she's precious!  The girls also liked the church today.  We haven't been to a church like this one in years but well.... it sure seems right.  (it's Baptist by the way in case you are curious)  We were going to a baptist church back home but this one is... just... different than that one.  OK, I'm rambling but I'm really excited after today!  I hope to meet some homeschoolers there?  Maybe?  :)  Friends and Church Family will be wonderful to have again!!!!  Smiles!
